Trademark Renewal
A trademark registration lasts 10 years from the date of application. Failure to renew results in removal from the register. We handle the entire TM-R filing to keep your brand protected.
What is Trademark Renewal?
Trademark Renewal is the process of extending a registered trademark's protection for another 10-year term by filing Form TM-R before expiry. If the mark expires, a 6-month grace period (surcharge applies) is available. Beyond that, the mark lapses and can be re-applied for by anyone.

Frequently asked questions
When should I renew my trademark?
You can renew any time within 12 months before expiry. We recommend renewing at least 3 months before the due date to avoid complications.
What if my trademark has already expired?
You have a 6-month grace period after expiry to renew with a surcharge. Beyond that, the mark is removed from the register.
Do I need to prove use at renewal?
India does not require proof of use at renewal. However, a mark can be cancelled for non-use by a third party if it has not been used for 5 consecutive years.
